This is a blog about enterprise playability, the idea that enterprise software would be much better — easier to use, easier to learn, and more helpful — if it was playable. That’s an advanced version of usable, and for some reason it’s only available in video games.
This blog will change that.
Games — especially video games — use some very specific patterns and features intended to increase their playability. The implementation methods vary from team to team, but the common end result is that games are, when designed properly, very easy to use.
Enterprise software isn’t.
The point of this blog is that enterprise software can be easy to use. It can be easy to learn. It can help users get things done. It can even be fun to use. Making it playable is the way to do that.
